The game is set for 7:30 p.m. at The Diamond on Tuesday, June 21 in Lake Elsinore, CA.

"Both Travis and Jose are very deserving of being named to the 2016 California League All-Star team," said Howard Johnson, Mavericks Manager. "In my opinion, we could have had a few more named, but Travis and Jose will represent the Rangers organization and the California League very well."

Jose Trevino will be representing the Mavericks as the starting All-Star catcher named to the team. This will be Trevino's third straight season in the Rangers' organization as an All-Star. In 2015, Trevino was a Mid-Season All-Star with the Hickory Crawdads in the South Atlantic League and was also a MiLB.com Organization All-Star. Travis Demeritte will also be representing the Mavericks as a starting All-Star infielder named to the team. Demeritte, a Georgia-native, who was signed in the first round of 2013, is currently leading the league in home runs (14), as well as runs scored (47) and tied for first in extra-base hits. The power-hitting second baseman recently received MiLB.com California League "Player of the Month" (April) as well as California League "Player of the Week" in the same month. He is rated as the Texas Rangers number 20 prospect according to MLB.com.

"Jose and Travis are two bright prospects in the talented Texas Rangers minor league organization," said Ben Hemmen, Mavericks General Manager. "Both of them, along with their teammates, have brought outstanding baseball action to Heritage Field. Fans should expect nothing less than championship-caliber baseball from these two as well as the rest of the 2016 Mavericks."

The All-Star teams are selected by votes of managers and coaching staffs, local media and front office executives. The California-Carolina League All-Star Game has been played annually since 1996. The Mavericks begin their final seven-game homestand of the first half on June 13 at Heritage Field.
