Two Big Innings Lead to Fort Wayne Victory

Beloit Sky Carp News Release
An 11-run outburst on 11 Fort Wayne hits proved to be more than enough for the San Diego Padres class A affiliate Wizards, as they cruised to a 11-1 victory on Friday night. The Snappers were only able to muster their lone run off of five hits.
Five runs in the top of the second and four more in the top of the third were all that the Wizards would need to claim game one of the three-game series against the defending Midwest League Western Division Champion Snappers. Beloit starter Michael Tarsi gave up the bulk of those runs, going two innings and allowing all nine runs on eight hits.
Beloit showed some signs of life in the bottom of the ninth inning, scoring one run on a Chris Parmelee RBI single to center. Parmelee's single drove home Steve Singleton, who doubled to lead off the ninth, from third base.
