
Tucson Padres Sweep Doubleheader Sunday

The Tucson Padres completed their third doubleheader sweep of the season by winning both games Sunday against the Salt Lake Bees at Kino Stadium.
Dean Anna collected four of the Padres 12 hits in the first game to pace Tucson to a 9-6 win.
The Bees took a 1-0 lead in the second on Robbie Widlansky's two-out RBI single to left. The Padres answered in the bottom of the inning with five runs on four hits. Daniel Robertson's three-run triple to center put Tucson ahead, while Anna's RBI single scored the final run of the frame. After the Bees scored one run in the top of the third, the Padres responded again with two runs on Mike Wilson's double and Chris Robinson's single.
Anna's RBI double in the fifth increased Tucson's lead to 9-3 and extended his on-base streak to nine-straight at-bats, setting a Tucson Padres record. Salt Lake rallied for three runs in the final inning, but Brad Brach was able to record the last two outs to seal the victory. The save was Brach's first of the year.
Brandon Kloess earned his third win for the Padres, tossing six innings while scattering six hits, two earned runs and two walks. Kloess struck out five in the win. Dustin Richardson was charged with the loss after surrendering seven runs on seven hits in three innings.

Tucson rallied back from an early four-run deficit with six runs in the final four innings to defeat Salt Lake 6-4 in the second game.
The Bees went ahead early with two runs in the opening inning. The first run scored on a bases-loaded walk to Luis Rodriguez, followed by an RBI single from John Hester. Two more runs came around for Salt Lake in the second on Matt Long's triple and a fielding error by Dean Anna. Daniel Robertson drove in the Padres first run in the third with an RBI single to left, cutting the Bees' lead to 4-1.
Tucson added a run in the fourth on Cody Decker's RBI triple. Anna and Gregorio Petit came through with two-out RBI singles in the fifth to knot the score up at four. Decker launched his 12th home run of the season over the left field bullpen in the sixth to hand the Padres the lead. Jaff Decker provided an insurance run with a sacrifice fly to center. Salt Lake loaded the bases in the seventh, but Miles Mikolas was able to hold off the rally to earn his 21st save of the year.
Reliever Kevin Qucakenbush won his fifth game of the season, while Mike Ekstrom lost his third for the Bees. Brad Boxberger kept the Padres in the game with 3.1 scoreless innings of relief.
