Round Rock Express News Release

ROUND ROCK, Texas - The Texas Rangers announced Monday that backstop Jose Felix has been placed on the disabled list and catcher Steven Teschner has been transferred to Round Rock from Hickory (A).

Felix becomes that latest Express catcher to find himself on the DL, joining Eli Whiteside on the shelf just six days apart (July 24). Felix has spent the entire season with the Express, hitting .270 in 32 games with the E-Train. He broke a three-game hitting streak in his last appearance, going 0-for-4 against Memphis on July 27.

Teschner was signed by the Rangers as an undrafted free agent out of Columbus State University on June 26. He finished his career at CSU this past spring, posting a .333 average and 25 extra-base hits in his final season. He played one game with the AZL Rangers in 2013, going 1-for-3 with a RBI before being promoted to Hickory (A). While with the Crawdads, Teschner played five games, collecting his first multi-hit game July 15 after going 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored at Lakewood.

After these moves, the current Express roster sits at 25 active players.
