Tribe Caps Trip with Twin-Bill Split

LOUISVILLE, KY - Tribe closer Blake Wood stranded the tying run at first base in the back end of a doubleheader as the Indianapolis Indians capped their road trip at 7-4 with a twin-bill split against the Louisville Bats on Tuesday afternoon at Slugger Field.

Wood struck out two to preserve both his sixth save and a 2-2 series split.

The Tribe (11-9) also went 2-1 in Columbus and 3-1 at Toledo to return to Victory Field unbeaten over its three road series' against International League West division opponents.

Alen Hanson paced the Indians' efforts at the plate with his combined 4-for-6 effort and run scored.

Steve Lombardozzi went 2-for-4 with a double and RBI in the opener for the Tribe, before Eugenio Suarez delivered the deciding hit for Louisville (7-12) with a solo homer in the fourth inning.

Indians second-game starter Charlie Leesman (4-1) allowed just one run on four hits over 5 1/3 frames to pick up his league-leading fourth win on the year.
