Pawtucket, RI (April 28, 2015) - The Syracuse Chiefs, Triple-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals, dropped game two of the four-game series to the Pawtucket Red Sox, 4-1, Tuesday night at McCoy Stadium. The PawSox struck for two runs in each of the first two innings, enough for a second straight win to start the series.

Pawtucket's (13-7) first inning started with a one-out single by Blake Swihart off Matt Swynenberg, followed by a walk to Travis Shaw. Two batters later, Quentin Berry walked to load the bases. Matt Spring singled deep to left field, bringing in Swihart and Shaw to put the PawSox up 2-0.

Syracuse (6-13) surrendered two more runs in the second. Devin Marrero singled to start the frame, followed by a single from Sean Coyle. Two batters later, Swihart singled in Marrero to extend the lead to three. After a strikeout, Bryce Brentz doubled home Pawtucket's fourth run.

The Chiefs got on the board in the fifth. Matt den Dekker reached on a bunt single off PawSox reliever Robby Scott. He made it to second on an error on the flip to first by Coyle charging from second base. Den Dekker moved to third on a single by Josh Johnson, and scored on a sacrifice fly by Michael Taylor.

Scott came in to relieve Jess Todd, who hurled four scoreless innings in a strong spot start.

Syracuse and Pawtucket return to McCoy Stadium tomorrow at 6:15 p.m. Richard Bleier is scheduled to start for the Chiefs opposite Henry Owens for the Red Sox.
