Charlotte Knights News Release

(UPTOWN CHARLOTTE, NC) - With the Sunday, April 19th Bark in the Ballpark game postponed due to rain, the Charlotte Knights are pleased to announce that BB&T Ballpark will be dog friendly on Sunday, May 3rd as all fans with tickets to the game will be able to bring their beloved canines to the ballpark. Gates open at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday and fans can bring their four-legged friends into the team's Uptown Charlotte kingdom free of charge (dog owners will need a ticket).

Sunday's Bark in the Ballpark game, presented by Purina and PetSmart, will allow fans and dogs of all ages to enjoy a 2:05 p.m. matinee game as the first place Charlotte Knights host the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (Triple-A affiliate of the New York Yankees) in the finale of their four-game series. While Sunday's game is a makeup for the postponed Bark in the Ballpark on April 19th, the Knights will host a second Bark in the Ballpark on "National Dog Day" on August 26 with the first 1,000 fans receiving dog collars on that day.

Sunday is also Homer's Halloween and the first 3,000 fans through the gates will receive a Trick-or-Treat bag. Fans and dogs are encouraged to dress up for an early Halloween celebration. All Sundays at BB&T Ballpark are always family-friendly and fans can also enjoy another Sunbelt Family Sunday, courtesy of Sunbelt Rentals. After the game on Sunday, kids can "Run the Bases" thanks to Academy Sports & Outdoors.

The Knights continue their seven-game homestand tonight from BB&T Ballpark with a 7:05 p.m. game against the Toledo Mud Hens (Triple-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers). Tonight's game features Star Was Knight with a special Glow-in-the-Dark Light Saber cap to the first 3,000 fans, courtesy of Carolinas HealthCare System. Fans can also take part in Twitter Tuesday tonight, with prizes throughout the game for fans, courtesy of BB&T. Fans are encouraged to join the Knights on Twitter @KnightsBaseball and use hashtag #StarWarsKnight.

Single-game tickets for all games on the homestand are available by phone at 704-274-8282, in person at the BB&T Ballpark Ticket Office, or online at charlotteknights.com.
