Cincinnati Cyclones News Release

TRENTON, New Jersey - Trenton Titans forward Scott Bertoli and Mark Pandolfo each had a pair of goals in a 7-1 win over the Cincinnati Cyclones on Saturday night. The loss was Cincinnati's sixth in seven games all-time at Trenton.

The Cyclones opened the scoring 14:35 into the first period, when ninth-year pro Sam Ftorek collected his 17th goal of the season. Ftorek had hit the center line and blasted a shot on goal that eluded Trenton netminder Greg Naumenko to break the scoring seal. Jason Goulet had the assist on the score. The Titans got a pair of goals before the period ended, as Benoit Mondou netted his 12th at 16:59 from the bottom of the faceoff circle to the left of the Cincinnati net. Scott Bertoli added his 15th from the same spot on the power play at 19:29. Trenton controlled most of the offensive flow in the opening stanza, outshooting the Cyclones, 19-4, in the period.

Trenton scored four times in the second period to put the game away. Luis Tremblay scored his second goal at 1:47, while Jim Henkel collected his tenth at 10:53. Mark Pandolfo buried his 13th at 17:00 and Bertoli netted his second of the night and 16th of the year at 19:55.

Pandolfo's second goal of the night at 6:55 closed out the scoring. The shots on goal favored Trenton for the night, 40-26. A total of 162 minutes in penalties were called as the affair unfolded, with Cincinnati amassing 88 minutes of that total. Three of the four fights on the night erupted in the third period.

The Cincinnati Cyclones, who have eight players on recall to the American Hockey League, including both goaltenders, have won four of their last six games. Cincinnati is now three games into their seven game road swing (1-2 thus far), which will see the team leave tomorrow (from Philadelphia) for a week (and four games) in California.

The Cyclones are now 28-20-2-2, leaders of the North Division lead by three points over Trenton. Trenton is 26-21-1-4 and is in second place in the North Division. The club returns to U.S. Bank Arena on Friday, March 9 against Dayton at 7:30pm.
