Estero, FL - Florida scored three first period goals en route to a 7-2 win over the Augusta Lynx at Germain Arena in Estero, Florida on Saturday night.

Florida opened the scoring just 63 seconds into the game when David Brine swept a puck in from the seat of his pants in front of the Lynx net and past the outstretched right pad of Dave McKee to make it 1-0.

Derek Damon converted a turnover at the Lynx line at 8:56, cashing in on a two-on-one feed from Dustin Johner for a two goal edge.

At 18:41 a power play goal from Adam Taylor closed the book on a three goal opening frame for the Everblades.

Augusta got on the scoreboard at 3:35 as Sean Blanchard followed up a rebound off a Brian Passmore shot to make it 3-1 as the Lynx opened the period with momentum.

But after a key time out by the Everblades the pendulum swung back to the Florida side of the ice, as they would score twice in the latter half of the period from Brad Zancanaro and Brad Parsons for a 5-1 edge after 40 minutes of play.

Brian Passmore sandwiched Augusta's only third period goal around a pair of Jarrett Lukin markers for the 7-2 final.

The Lynx and Everblades are back in action Tuesday night at 7:30 pm. With the Lynx on the road there will be no Lynx Radio Hour this week at Indigo Joe's, but the team will return one week from this Monday from 7-8 pm on your Home for Lynx Hockey, NEWSTALKSPORTS 1630.
