Toronto Marlies News Release
Saturday saw the Rochester Americans in town to take on the Toronto Marlies. The Marlies played a strong game from start to finish, using a strong second period to emerge victorious. The scoring started with Spencer Abbott 1:30 into the second. Within two minutes Toronto would capitalize again, this time Connor Brown was on the receiving end of a pass from Brett Findlay. After a Rochester time-out, the Americans came out strong, drawing a penalty on the Marlies. The man-advantage would lead to a shorthanded opportunity for Greg McKegg who would make the most of the opportunity, recording his second short-handed point of the year. The scoring would conclude with the Americans Phil Varone recording his fifth goal of the year. The third period saw lots of activity but no scoring and Christopher Gibson would go on to record his second win of the year.
