Pirates Reassign Carey to Gwinnett

Saco, ME - The Portland Pirates today announced that they have reassigned forward Greg Carey to their ECHL affiliate, the Gwinnett Gladiators.

Carey, a 6-foot, 195 pound left wing from Hamilton, Ontario, played in five games this season with Portland. He debuted with the Pirates last season, playing in 13 games, scoring one goal and one assist for two points.

Prior to turning pro, Carey played four seasons at St. Lawrence University, where he played in 152 games, scoring 84-101-185. As a senior in 2013-14, Carey scored 18-37-57 in 38 games and was named a Hobey Baker Hat Trick finalist.

Carey is expected to join the Gladiators in time for their home game tomorrow afternoon against the Toledo Walleye.
