Toronto Falls 4-1 against Rochester

Toronto Marlies News Release


The Toronto Marlies were defeated by the Rochester Americans, AHL affiliate of the Buffalo Sabres, by a score of 4-1 tonight at Ricoh Coliseum.

Luke Adam opened the scoring on a powerplay at 16:09 of the first period. Former Marlie Mike Zigomanis gave Rochester a 2-0 lead at 7:12 of the middle frame. Alexander Sulzer notched the Amerks second powerplay goal of the evening with just over three minutes remaining in the period. Spencer Abbott broke goaltender Matt Hackett's shutout at 10:16 of the final frame. Phil Varone added an empty net tally to secure a 4-1 victory for the Amerks.

The Marlies return to the ice tomorrow afternoon when they travel down the QEW for a 3 p.m. game against the Hamilton Bulldogs, AHL affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens.
