
IceHogs Face off against Checkers

Rockford, Ill.- In their first matchup of the season, the Rockford IceHogs (5-2-1-0) will take on the Charlotte Checkers (3-2-0-0) at the BMO Harris Bank Center today at 3 p.m.
Following the game, fans can lace up their skates and join the IceHogs out on the ice. IceHogs players will sign autographs and pass out candy. There will be no rental skates provided but, for those without skates, a few players will pass out candy, sign autographs and pose for photos on the main concourse by Oink Outfitters. There will also be a costume contest in which the winner will receive two tickets to tonight's Chicago Blackhawks game against the Minnesota Wild. Two more tickets to tonight's game will be given away to a randomly selected seat during the game.

The first 5,000 fans to the BMO will receive an IceHogs magnet schedule courtesy of T6 and can be a part of Trick-or-Treat Skate with the Hogs after the game.

Tune in to catch up with the season so far and get a preview of the matchup against Charlotte.
After going 1-0-1-0 on a two-game Canadian road trip, the IceHogs return home to the BMO. Today's game against Charlotte begins an 11-game stretch featuring eight games at home for the Hogs. The set of games includes two against today's opponent, the Checkers.
Illinois native, Terry Broadhurst, finds himself in the midst of a four-game point streak. The winger has tallied seven points during the streak, including three goals and four assists. Broadhurst had three points (2g-1a) on the recent road trip. Defenseman Adam Clendening continues his point scoring ways and now finds himself in double digits with 10 points (2g-8a) on the season.
The Checkers come into today's game just one day after shutting out the defending Calder Cup Champion Grand Rapids Griffins 5-0. The Checkers are playing team hockey with three skaters tied for the team lead in points with five, defenseman Mark Flood (4g-1a), and wingers Chris Terry (4g-1a) and Zach Boychuck (2g-3a).
Next Home Game: Saturday, Oct. 27 vs. Texas. Game time is 4 p.m. The first 5,000 fans to the BMO will receive a 2013 Championship Poster featuring former IceHogs skaters that helped the Chicago Blackhawks become the 2013 Stanley Cup Champions. All fans will be given an opportunity to come see and take a picture with the Stanley Cup along with all the other individual and team trophies that the Chicago Blackhawks won in the 2012-13 season. Doors will open one hour prior to game time at 3 p.m. for general ticket holders and 2 p.m. for season ticket holders.
