
'Topes' win streak ends in 13-1 loss

Tucson hit five homers off Albuquerque pitching as the Isotopes lost 13-1 on Monday night, putting an end to their season-high six game winning streak.
Andy Green hit his first of two home runs on the third pitch of the game, giving the Sidewinders a 1-0 lead. Starter Michael Tejera would give up two more homers in the third inning, three-run shots by Tim Olson and Luis Terrero as Tucson put up six runs in the inning for a 7-0 lead.
The Sidewinders added five more runs (and two more homers) in the fourth before Albuquerque broke through in the sixth on a Brian Banks RBI single, scoring Jason Wood. Wood had singled with one out in the inning, ending a no-hit bid by starter Edgar Gonzalez. The Isotopes were held to five hits on the evening.
Albuquerque (26-19) fell back into a tie for first place with the Iowa Cubs and host Tucson for game two of four Tuesday night, beginning at 7:11 PM. Aaron Small gets the nod on the mound for the Isotopes.
