
Expos outright outfielder Peter Bergeron to Edmonton

The Montreal Expos today recalled outfielder Peter Bergeron from his rehab assignment at Single-A Brevard County and outrighted him to Triple-A Edmonton. In a corresponding move, the Expos also ourighted Luis Lopez to Edmonton. Vice President and General Manager Omar Minaya made the announcement.
Bergeron, 26, was placed on the 15-Day Disabled List on April 22 (retroactive to April 19) with a right rib strain. He injured himself in a collision at second base on April 18 at Philadelphia. He hit .176 (3-for-17) with a triple during his 4-game rehab assignment with the Brevard County Manatees of the Single-A Florida State League.
Lopez, 30, started the season with the Expos, playing 11 games with the club. He was optioned to Edmonton on April 25.
