Colorado Springs Sky Sox News Release


The Colorado Springs Sky Sox win 10-8, against the Las Vegas 51's at Sky Sox Stadium. Sky Sox starting pitcher Kip Bouknight had a strong performance going 5.2 innings giving up just 5 hits, no runs, walking one and striking out 4. The Sox scored 4 runs in the 4th inning while Las Vegas tied it up in the 7th on a 3-run home run by 51's Antonio Perez who had 5 RBI on the night. Sox third baseman Erick Almonte answered in the bottom of the 7th inning with a 2-run home run scoring Clint Barmes who reached base on a double. Sky Sox relievers struggled combining for 3.1 innings giving up 8 runs (all earned) on 6 hits while walking 4. The Colorado Springs Sky Sox and Las Vegas 51's take to the field Tuesday night at 7:05 for game two of a four game series. Colorado Springs RHP Denny Stark will face Las Vegas RHP Joel Hanrahan.
