Tri-City ValleyCats News Release
TROY, NY July 31 - The Tri-City ValleyCats will host Community Heroes Night at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium on Thursday, July 31 at 7 p.m. to honor heroes from all walks of life in the Capital Region.
For the second year in a row, E. Stewart Jones Law Firm and The Tri-City ValleyCats have encouraged community members to nominate local heroes who have made a difference in their communities. Nominees from this year include members of the military, law enforcement, fire fighter/EMT agencies, charity organizations and more.
After receiving dozens of applications, a Home Run Community Heroes Starting Nine was selected, and each chosen member will be recognized on the field at 6:35 p.m. before the ValleyCats take on the Mahoning Valley Scrappers. The game will begin at 7 p.m. and there will be a special recognition for other community members in attendance.
Tonight is also STOP DWI Night at the stadium which will include participation by a number of law enforcement agencies from around the Capital Region. We will also be recognizing Blue Friday of New York, a program that assists in providing resources needed by families or co-workers of law enforcement officers killed or seriously injured in the line of duty.
Below is the full list of 2014 Community Heroes: Shay Kerwin, Casey Predilitto, James Dorward, Jr., Brian Ragule and Brian Reith, Bakary Janneh, Roman Goddeau, Tara Hulett, Bailey Wind and Decky Lawson.
