
Titans trade for Tremblay

TRENTON, NJ (January 24, 2007) - The Trenton Titans announced today that they have acquired defenseman Luis Tremblay from the Texas Wildcatters in exchange for defenseman Peter Tormey.
Tremblay, 23, returns to the North Division having spent last season with the Wheeling Nailers, leading team defensemen with 14 goals while compiling 30 points (14g, 16a). The third-year pro out of Val-d'Or, Quebec put up a goal, 5 assists and 57 penalty minutes in 33 games with the Wildcatters this season. Tremblay, 6-1, 192 lbs, began his professional career in 2004-05 with the Bakersfield Condors registering 24 points (2g, 22a) and 122 PIM in 68 games. He also enjoyed four seasons with Baie-Comeau Drakkar (QMJHL) scoring 27 goals, 64 assists and 457 PIM in 251 contests.
Now in his second professional season, Tormey has spent all but 5 of his 94 pro games with the Titans. The 6-4, 216-pound native of Buzzard's Bay, MA totaled 11 points (5g, 6a) and 50 PIM with Trenton.
In separate transactions, Gregg Johnson has been released from his professional tryout agreement with the Norfolk Admirals (AHL) and returned to Trenton, while the Philadelphia Flyers (NHL) have assigned right wing Gino Pisellini from the Phantoms to the Titans.
Signing his third PTO with the Admirals on January 5, Johnson appeared in seven games for Norfolk in his latest stint with the team, registering his first three points as an Admiral (one goal and two assists) and no penalty minutes. On the season, the 24-year old native of Windsor, CT has played 11 games with Norfolk. He appeared in his 100th career AHL contest on Sunday in Philadelphia.
Johnson has 11 goals, 16 assists and six penalty minutes in 21 games for the Titans and is tied for second on the team with 27 points.
Pisellini, 20, makes his Titans debut this evening after posting 2 points (1g, 1a) and 34 penalty minutes in 22 games with Philadelphia (AHL). The 6-0, 210-pound rookie out of Melrose Park, IL skated for three seasons with the Plymouth Whalers of the Ontario Hockey League, notching 34 goals, 44 assists and 605 penalty minutes in 216 total games.
