January 24, 2007 - ECHL (ECHL)
Pensacola Ice Pilots News Release
PENSACOLA, FL -- The Pensacola Ice Pilots of the ECHL are pleased to announce their 1st Annual Charity Silent Auction will be held on Friday, March 2, from 6 pm to 9 p.m. at Big Sexy Food, located at 511 S. Palafox Street. There are a limited amount of tickets available for this event. Tickets are $20 each, and will go on sale Thursday, Feb. 1st. Proceeds from the auction will benefit the Pensacola Ice Pilots Foundation, which supports local charitable organizations.
The event promises to be an enjoyable evening, as attendees will mingle with Ice Pilots players and staff while bidding on an array of items donated by local businesses and major league sports teams. Entertainment for the evening will be provided by the Jim Andrews Band. The silent auction will be conducted from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., while heavy hors d'oeuvres and wine are being served, and the winners will be announced immediately following. The items to be auctioned will appear on the Ice Pilots' website, www.icepilots.com, beginning in February.
The Pensacola Ice Pilots Foundation is very active in the Gulf Coast Community, with charitable donations and appearances by players and their mascot, "Ice Man". In the past, the Foundation has supported organizations such as Independence for the Blind West, the American Diabetes Association, Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Northwest Florida, Families Count, the Pensacola Opera, Covenant Hospice, United Way of Escambia County, Healthy Start Coalition, and more. The Foundation has also sponsored an underprivileged student with the Take Stock in Children Scholarship through the Escambia County School District.
"While we are accepting donation items for auction up thru February 23rd, we want to thank those who have already made contributions," says Allison Clark, Director of Community Relations for the Pensacola Ice Pilots. "Our website will be updated weekly to reflect sponsors for our event. Thank you all so much for your shared excitement in making our auction a tremendous success!"
