
Rays Trade Bennett to Long Beach

N. CHARLESTON, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays and head coach Jason Fitzsimmons announced today that right winger Ryan Bennett has been traded to the Long Beach Ice Dogs for future considerations.
Bennett, 25, is in his third full year of professional hockey, and his first season with the Stingrays. The Glens Falls native has played in all 39 games with the Rays this season and has 18 points on six goals and 12 assists.
Prior to joining the Stingrays, Bennett played two years with the Adirondack Frostbite of the United Hockey League where he scored 46 goals and had 63 assists for 108 points in 127 games. Bennett has been called-up to the American Hockey League twice in his career. Once with the Rochester Americans in the 04-05 season where he played six games without recording a point and then again in the 05-06 season with the Portland Pirates where he had one assist in six games. The 6-0, 195-pound winger has also spent time with the Augusta Lynx of the ECHL where he had one goal and an assist for two points in seven games last year.
The Stingrays get back into action on the road for an 8:05 p.m. ET game tonight against the Texas Wildcatters at Ford Arena in Beaumont.
