@ Long Beach Ice Dogs

LAST GAME: Victoria and Bakersfield battled in the rubber match at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre on Monday night. Kevin St. Jacques scored two consecutive goals in the first two periods for the Condors advantage.

Marc-Andre Bernier maintained his goal streak (five games) at 8:24 into the second period and helped Victoria inch towards a tie game.

Bakersfield regained the two-goal lead with Kevin Truelson's fourth goal of the season with 7:50 remaining in the second. Two minutes later, the Salmon Kings earned a powerplay goal from Jordan Krestanovich and closed the gap once again. But before the end of the second frame, Bakersfield collected another cushion and hung on in the third to snag the win and earn top spot in the Pacific Division.

4-2 Condors

LAST GAME vs Long Beach: Victoria rolled off the excitement of a shootout win at home versus the Alaska Aces to land in Long Beach for their fifth meeting of the season.

The Ice Dogs' Ash Goldie opened the scoring with a shorthanded tally, but Victoria's Wes Goldie responded with two straight powerplay goals and the Salmon Kings 2-1 lead.

Long Beach tied the game with a goal from Defenseman David Walker during a second period powerplay, and Darryl Lloyd put the Salmon Kings back on top with a penalty shot goal with nearly six minutes remaining in the frame.

Long Beach, however, scooped the lead before the end of the second with markers from Terry Harrison and Donald Johnson.

Wes Goldie tallied a hat trick and tied the game in the third period, and just over a minute later Defenseman Matt Kelly lifted a backhand score for the Salmon Kings lead.

Captain Kiel McLeod secured the victory with a shorthanded goal in the last minutes of the game.
