
Titans Sign Henkel; Thompson and Lee Return

TRENTON, NJ (December 13, 2005) - The Trenton Titans announced on Tuesday that they have agreed to terms with center Jim Henkel for the remainder 2005-06 season.
Henkel, 26, comes to the Titans after being released from a professional tryout agreement with the Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League (AHL), where he notched a goal, 2 assists and 2 penalty minutes in 19 games.
The native of Hazlet, NJ made a splash his rookie year in 2002-03 by compiling 68 points (32g, 36 a) in 68 games for the now-defunct Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies and being selected to the 2003 Northern Conference All-Star Team. Henkel, a fourth-year pro, went to play 22 more games with the Bullies and also appear in 124 AHL games from 2003-06.
Originally selected by the Los Angeles Kings in the eighth round (#217 overall) of the 1998 NHL Entry Draft, Henkel registered 61 points in 123 games at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (1998-2002).
In separate transactions, forwards Mark Lee and Chris Thompson have been assigned by the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Thompson, 27, has 5 penalty minutes in 5 games for the Sound Tigers. Now in his eighth season of pro hockey, Thompson has recorded 6 goals, 2 assists and 29 penalty minutes over 17 games with Trenton.
Lee, 21, has appeared in four games for Bridgeport, notching 4 penalty minutes. A second-year pro, Lee has also chipped in 2 goals, 2 assists and 10 penalty minutes in 10 games for Trenton.
The Titans have four home games remaining in 2005: Friday, December 16 and Saturday, December 17 against Dayton; Wednesday, December 21 versus Wheeling and Friday, December 30 against Johnstown.
