
Nailers Jump Back into First Place

READING, PA - The Wheeling Nailers and Reading Royals have played some exciting games over the past few years and Tuesday night was no different. With first place on the line the two teams battled at the Sovereign Center in Reading,PA.
In the first period the Nailers jumped all over the home standing Royals taking a 2-0 lead. Goals by newcomer Dan Carcillo his first and Jordan Cameron gave the Nailers a comfortable lead after one.
In the second Reading came firing back scoring on their first power play of the night to make it 3-1. Later Terry Virtue would shock the Royals fans with a blast past Cody Rudkowsky to give the Nailers 3-1 lead. Just a few minutes later the Royals would get back to within one on a goal by Doug Christiansen . Late in the second Bo Cheesman scored his third of the season to give the Nailers 4-2 lead.
In the third the Nailers defense denied the Royals from getting any good looks at the net, while Andy Chiod stopped all shots in his direction. Dan Carcillo netted his second of the year and night with an empty net goal to give the Nailers the 5-2 win.
Friday the Nailers returns home to host Reading for T-Shirt night, the first 2,500 fans through the door will receive a free Nailers t-shirt. On Saturday they host Johnstown for United Bank Ball Cap Night, once again the first 2,500 fans through the door will receive a ball cap, game time is set for 8:00 PM on Saturday.
