WHEELING, WV - The Wheeling Nailers announce today that the Pittsburgh Penguins have reassigned forward Daniel Carcillo and defensemen Paul Bissonnette and Daniel Fernholm to the Nailers from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton for their game tonight in Reading.
Carcillo, 20, has 15 points (7+8) in 24 games with the Penguins this season. The 5-11, 200 pound rookie from King City, Ontario is also second on the team with 107 penalty minutes. He was selected in the third round (73rd overall) of the 2003 Entry Draft by the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Bissonnette, 20, has appeared in 10 games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton this season, recording one assist, 17 penalty minutes and a plus-2 rating. The rookie from Welland, Ontario also six points (1+5) and four penalty minutes in seven games with the Nailers this season. He was Pittsburgh's fourth round choice (121st overall) in the 2003 Entry Draft.
Fernholm, 21, posted three points (2+1), 18 penalty minutes and a plus-7 ranking in 18 games with the Nailers this season. The first-year player from Stockholm, Sweden, is scoreless and minus-1 in three games with the Penguins. He was selected by Pittsburgh in the fourth round (101st overall) of the 2002 Entry Draft.
"We are very pleased to have these guys join us, all three are very talented young players who have bright futures in this organization" said Nailers Head Coach Glenn Patrick.
The Nailers travel to Reading to play the Royals tonight, and travel to Dayton on Thursday. Friday the team returns home to host Reading for T-Shirt night, the first 2,500 fans through the door will receive a free Nailers t-shirt. On Saturday they host Johnstown for United Bank Ball Cap Night, once again the first 2,500 fans through the door will receive a ball cap, game time is set for 8:00 PM on Saturday.
