Wranglers' Magliarditi Named Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender Of The Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Marc Magliarditi of the Las Vegas Wranglers is the Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week for Dec. 5-11.

The 5-foot-11 and 180-pound Magliarditi posted a 1.33 goals-against average and a .941 save percentage while going 3-0-0 on the week and helping the Wranglers move from fourth place to second place in the West Division, two points behind Alaska.

The 29-year-old began the week stopping all 20 shots in a 4-0 win at home against Johnstown on Dec. 6, increasing his ECHL career record to 24 shutouts. Magliarditi helped to extend the Wranglers winning streak to five games by stopping 13 of 15 shots in a 5-2 win at Toledo on Dec. 9 and had 31 saves in his second start in as many nights against the Storm for a 3-2 victory on Dec. 10.

Selected in the sixth round (146th overall) by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 1995 NHL Entry Draft, Magliarditi is 10-4-1 and tied for second in the league in wins and his goals-against average of 2.10 ties him for fourth in the ECHL with teammate Mike McKenna. In his last six starts, he is 5-0-1 with a .929 save percentage and a 1.79 goals-against average as the Wranglers have gone unbeaten in regulation in their last 11 games (10-0-1).

A native of Niagara Falls, N.Y., Magliarditi is in his third season with the Wranglers and ninth ECHL season having played for Columbus (Ohio), Florida, Louisiana and Richmond. He has a career ECHL record of 190-100-23 in 325 games. He played one game with Cleveland in the American Hockey League and has also played time in the International Hockey League.
