
Titans send Beauchemin back to Titans

TRENTON, NJ (January 21, 2006) - The Trenton Titans announced on Saturday that goaltender Rejean Beauchemin has been assigned by the Philadelphia Phantoms of the American Hockey League (AHL), while forward Cole Byers and defenseman Rosario Ruggeri have been placed on the 7-day IR.
Beauchemin, 20, returns to the Titans after his third call-up to the Phantoms this season. The rookie netminder has registered a 3-6-1 record and a 2.61 goals against average in 12 appearances with Philadelphia (AHL). A native of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Beauchemin has posted a 2-6-1 record for the Titans with a 3.01 GAA and a .901 save percentage. Beauchemin was selected by the Philadelphia Flyers in the sixth round (191st overall) of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
Ruggeri, 21, ranks second among Titans defensemen with eight points (2g, 6a) in 27 games. Now in his second year of pro hockey, the Montreal, Quebec-native was a fourth round draft pick (#105 overall) of the Philadelphia Flyers in the 2002 NHL Draft.
Byers, 22, leads the Titans with 79 penalty minutes in 27 games, while also chipping in a goal and an assist. In his first full year of pro hockey, Byers split 18 games last season between the Victoria Salmon Kings of the ECHL and Quebec RadioX and Sorel-Tracy Mission of the Ligue Nord-Américaine de Hockey
The Titans host the Dayton Bombers tonight at 7:00pm at Sovereign Bank Arena.
