Ice Pilots Lose 4-3 vs Gwinnett

Pensacola, FL - The Pensacola Ice Pilots lost to the Gwinnett Gladiators 4-3 in front of 4,631 fans at the Pensacola Civic Center on Saturday night.

Eric Braff scored his first professional goal at the 4:02 mark of the first period to give the Ice Pilots a 1-0 lead. Scott Kelman scored a shorthanded goal at the 7:10 mark of the first period to tie the game at one.

Milan Gajic scored a power play goal at the 4:39 mark of the second period to give Gwinnett their first lead of the game 2-1. The Ice Pilots Bobby Cunningham scored his first goal of the season at the 9:32 mark to tie the game at 2.

Scott Kelman scored his second goal of the game for Gwinnett at the 1:01 mark of the third period and Steve Slaton scored a power play goal at the 8:07 mark of the third period to give Gwinnett a 4-2 lead. Dallas Steward scored with 47 seconds left in regulation to make it a 4-3 final.

The Ice Pilots had 35 shots on goal, 12 penalty minutes and went 0-3 on the power play. Gwinnett had 34 shots on goal, 12 penalty minutes and went 2-6 on the power play. Todd Ford was the losing goalie for the Ice Pilots and Tuomas Tarkki was the winning goalie for Gwinnett.

The Ice Pilots record drops to 15-22-3 for 33 points and Gwinnett improves their record to 24-9-5 for 53 points.

After the game, Ice Pilots goalie Todd Ford was recalled to the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League.
