XM Radio Will Broadcast ECHL All-Star Game

PRINCETON, N.J. - The ECHL announced on Saturday that the 2006 ECHL All-Star Game presented by Bud Light will be broadcast by XM Satellite Radio, the nation's leading satellite radio service with more than six million subscribers.

The ECHL All-Star Game will be broadcast on HOME ICE XM 204 at 10 p.m. ET in the United States on XM Radio and in Canada through XM's partner, Canadian Satellite Radio, on Channel 204.

"We are delighted that the ECHL All-Star Game, our showcase event, is being made available live on XM Radio, the nation's largest satellite radio service," said ECHL Commissioner Brian McKenna. "With players representing all 25 teams in the ECHL participating in the game it will give fans across North America an opportunity to follow their favorite player on XM Radio."

Produced by NHL Radio, the ECHL All-Star Game audio broadcast features Brian Clark of the Fresno Falcons, Matt Melzak of the Toledo Storm and Christopher Stango of the Greenville Grrrowl.

XM is in the first year of a 10-year and $100-million agreement to broadcast National Hockey League games and in 2007-08 becomes the exclusive satellite radio network of the NHL. In addition to live play-by-play coverage of more than 1,000 games from every team in the NHL, XM has the NHL channel which features original programming that focuses on all aspects of the NHL. XM will also broadcast the NHL All-Star Game, the Stanley Cup Playoffs and the Stanley Cup Finals.

The Fresno Falcons are the host for the 2006 ECHL All-Star Skills Competition on Jan. 24 and the 2006 ECHL All-Star Game presented by Bud Light on Jan. 25. Both events will be at Save Mart Center and begin at 7 p.m. PT.
