Trenton Devils News Release

Wall, NJ (October 15, 2004) – In the first ever Titans game at Wall Sports Arena in Wall, NJ, it was the Reading Royals who triumphed in a shoot out 2-1. Fans in Ocean County were treated to a gritty game with end-to-end action.

Trenton got on the board during the power play, as Trevor Johnson converted a Brent Robinson centering pass for a 1-0 lead at 17:35 of the first period. That's the way the score would remain until the third period when Martin Wilde fired a slapshot through a screen and past goaltender Andrew Allen to the tie it up 1-1.

After a scoreless overtime, Trenton and Reading headed to a shootout. Craig Mischler and David Masse clinched the win for the Royals as Reading goaltender Barry Brust stopped all four Titan shots.
