Titans Fall to Rivermen, 3-1

TRENTON, NJ (April 2, 2005) – The Peoria Rivermen ended the Titans six-game winning streak by logging a 3-1 victory over Trenton in front of 7,508 fans at Sovereign Bank Arena.

Trevor Baker scored late in the first period to give the Rivermen a 1-0 lead at 15:25. The power play goal, Baker's 16th tally of the season, was assisted by Tyler Rennette.

After a scoreless second period, the Titans evened the contest at 13:34 in the third period when Brent Robinson scored his 18th goal of the season deflecting a Stephen Wood wrist shot down and past Peoria goalie Alfie Michaud. With the goal, Robinson extended his scoring streak to six games.

But the Rivermen struck back quickly when Jake Riddle scored his 11th of the season 1:35 into later. Riddle split two Titans defenseman, dragged the puck to his backhand side and beat Andrew Allen for the goal.

Baker scored his second goal of the game on an empty-net opportunity to seal a 3-1 Peoria victory.

Despite losing for the first time in 14 games at Sovereign Bank Area, Allen stopped 27 Peoria shots.

His Rivermen counterpart, Alfie Michaud made 28 saves en route to his 27th win of the season.
