FLORENCE, SC -- The Pee Dee Pride ended their six-game winless streak with a 3-2 win over the Columbia Inferno in front of 2,737 fans on Saturday at the Florence Civic Center.

The Pride got off to a quick start, scoring a power-play goal 9:15 into the opening period. Jake Wiegand's shot from the point hit off of Allan Sirois' leg and deflected past Columbia goaltender Mike Minard.

Just 13 seconds later, the Pride struck again. Gregg Johnson centered a pass in front for Steve Hildenbrand, and he rammed a shot past Minard for his 16th goal of the season.

Pee Dee added to its lead 7:47 into the second period. Brett Roat fed a cross-ice pass to Sirois at the top of the left-wing circle, and he blasted a shot past Minard for his 19th of the season.

Columbia made things interesting in the third. Eric Boulton scored a power-play goal at 5:40, and Brad Ralph added another power-play tally at 11:38, deflecting a Trevor Demmans shot past Sebastien Laplante.

The Inferno had a chance to tie the game late as they won a faceoff inside the Pride end with six seconds left. But, Laplante made a sprawling save to give the Pride the win.

Pee Dee concludes its three-game weekend tomorrow, hosting the Gwinnett Gladiators in a 2:30 p.m. matinee on the final Sunday Kids' Day of the season. Kids 12 and under can purchase 200 or 400 level seats for just $2.50, and kids' meals will be available for an additional $2.50. Tickets are available at the Florence Civic Center Box Office, or through TicketMaster at (843) 679-9333 or www.ticketmaster.com.
