TRENTON, NJ (March 10, 2007) - Down 3-0 heading into the third period, the Trenton Titans fell one goal short of completing the comeback in a 3-2 loss to the Toledo Storm at the Sovereign Bank Arena on Saturday afternoon.

Looking to sweep the weekend series versus the Storm, the Titans thought they had finally gotten on the board early in the final frame, but a power play tally by Les Haggett, was waved off as it was said he gloved the puck toward the net.

Benoit Mondou, however, made sure Trenton got its first goal of the game when Mark Pandolfo laid a perfect pass in between the hash marks, which Mondou roofed at 7:36 for his 16th goal of the season.

Roughly two and a half minutes later, Mike Manley got credit for the goal that pulled the Titans within one, as the rebound from his shot deflected off of the skate of a Toledo forward and across the goal line. Despite outshooting the Storm 21-5 in the final frame, Trenton would be unable to muster the game-tying goal.

Storm goaltender Ervins Mustukovs, who finished with 51 saves in the game, kept the Titans off the scoreboard early and allowed his team to take a 1-0 lead at 7:31 of the first when Nick Parillo tucked a loose puck on the near post past Gregg Naumenko.

Toledo extended their edge to two with a 5-on-3 power play goal by Jeremy Hall with six seconds left until the first intermission. Jason Maleyko made the score 3-0 at 1:09 during the ensuing 5-on-4 at the beginning of the middle stanza.

The Titans finished 0-for-5 on the power play and 4-for-6 on the penalty kill.
