Dayton Bombers News Release
Dayton, OH - Dayton Bombers Head Coach and General Manager Don MacAdam announced today that the Bombers have signed forward Bryce Anderson. Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
"Bryce comes highly recommended by coach Markel at OSU and the Columbus Blue Jackets scouting staff and has had a very solid career at OSU," said MacAdam.
Anderson, a 6'2", 195-pound native of Waterloo, Iowa, signs with the Bombers after playing four years of collegiate hockey at the Ohio State University where he appeared in 141 games and recorded 46 points on 19 goals and 27 assists. In 2004 he was named the Buckeyes Most Improved Player and played as both a forward and a defenseman. He is a three time OSU Scholar Athlete and two time Academic All Big Ten Selection.
The Bombers return to the Nutter Center tonight to take on the Wheeling Nailers at
7:00 p.m. Fans have the chance to enter to compete in the on-ice shootout challenge to win one of three Fender guitars, complements of Willis Music. Z93 personalities Scott Sharp and Mark Neal will host the contest. The station will have a live remote broadcast from the Ervin J. Nutter Center from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
The Bombers will be wearing special promotional jerseys featuring their new, alternate logo in honor of Wright Patt Air Force Base. These authentic, game-worn jerseys will be auctioned off immediately following the game on the Verizon Flight Deck by Bombers celebrity auctioneer, Jim Tietge. All fans are invited to participate in the auction, which will benefit the Fisher/Nightingale Houses. The Fisher/Nightingale Houses, located on Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, provide physical and emotional support to servicemen and servicewomen and offer an opportunity for military families to stay together and support each other when a loved one is undergoing medical treatment.
Future stars of the Bombers, the Dayton Bluehawks IP and Dayton Bombers Youth Hockey League mites, will entertain the crowd with scrimmages during each of the game's intermissions. Throughout the game on the Mountain Dew Flight Deck clowns will be in attendance making balloon animals and painting faces, for the kids.
