ABOUT LAST GAME: The first-place TinCaps beat Peoria, 4-2, at Dozer Park on Sunday night. Down 2-0 after four innings, Fort Wayne tied the game in the fifth thanks to a Michael Gettys two-run double. Then in the ninth, Trae Santos hit a go-ahead sacrifice fly and Michael Miller delivered an RBI single.
HOT MEETS HOT: The TinCaps have won 10 of their last 12 games, while the River Bandits have won 12 of 13. Fort Wayne is in first place in the Eastern Division in the second half, while Quad Cities has the best record in the Midwest League this season. In fact, Quad Cities has the best record in all of affiliated baseball right now.

VANMETER RETURNS: Less than 4 months after fracturing his left fibula at Parkview Field against Lansing on April 13 while turning a double play at second base, Josh VanMeter is back with the TinCaps. The infielder from nearby Ossian, Ind., has been rehabbing in Arizona since the end of April. He returned to game action for the AZL Padres on Friday. In three games, he went 8-for-11 with 3 extra-base hits.
