Milwaukee Admirals News Release

The American Hockey League and the Milwaukee Admirals today announced that defenseman Brad Tiley has been selected as the playing Captain for the Canadian AHL All-Star Team. Captains for the American Hockey League All-Star teams are selected by the league in recognition of their outstanding service and leadership to the AHL.

Making his third career AHL All-Star Classic appearance (1999, 2000), Tiley has recorded 96 goals and 266 assists for 362 points in 625 career American Hockey League contests with the Milwaukee Admirals, Philadelphia Phantoms, Springfield Falcons, Binghamton Rangers and Maine Mariners.

In 2000 he won the Eddie Shore Award, given to the AHL's outstanding defenseman, as he set career highs with 54 assists and 68 points. The 14-year pro won his first championship with the Admirals in 2004, finishing second in scoring among the team's blueliners. Thus far this season he has six goals and eight assists in 33 contests.

"This is a tremendous and well deserved honor for Brad," noted Admirals' Head Coach Claude Noel. "He has certainly been one of the leaders on our team for the past two seasons, both on the ice and in the locker room."

Noel will actually be Tiley's bench boss during the All-Star Game as well, as he automatically earned the honor when the Admirals captured the AHL crown last season.

Another Milwaukee connection will serve as Tiley's counter-part as Captain of the PlanetUSA Squad. Craig Darby, who currently plays for the Springfield Falcons, suited up for the Admirals during the 1998-99 campaign.

The 2005 Dodge AHL All-Star Classic will take place at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester, N.H., home of the AHL's Manchester Monarchs. The event gets underway on Sunday, February 13, with the 2005 AHL All-Star Skills Competition at 7:00 p.m. (ET). The annual All-Star Game follows at 7:00 p.m. (ET) on Monday, February 14, and will be televised live nationally in the United States and Canada.
