ROCHESTER, NY -- Jeff Jillson scored the lone goal and Ryan Miller stopped 30 shots as the Rochester Americans blanked the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks, 1-0, Wednesday at Blue Cross Arena at the Rochester War Memorial.

Jillson, a first-round pick by San Jose in 1999, scored his fourth goal of the season 5:16 into the first period with help from Daniel Paille and Chris Thorburn.

Miller turned aside six shots in the first period, nine in the second and 15 more in the third en route to his fifth shutout of the season, and fourth in his last nine games.

The Americans improved to 10-1-0-0 in their last 11 games and moved past idle Manitoba into first place in the North Division.

Frederic Cassivi made 23 saves for the Ducks, who lost for just the third time in their last 10 games (7-3-0-0).

The Ducks three-game road trip continues Friday when they begin a two-game series with Hamilton at Copps Coliseum.
