Hartford, January 12, 2005: Hartford Wolf Pack stalwart Ken Gernander now owns the franchise record for most points ever by a Wolf Pack player -- 344. The team captain set the mark with an assist on the Wolf Pack's first goal of the night, passing Brad Smyth's previous mark of 343. The Pack went on to beat the Bridgeport SoundTigers 3-2 in a shootout. The win was number 14 in a row for goaltender Jason LaBarbera, adding to his franchise record. It also equals his own franchise record for most games without a loss.

Gernander has been the only captain of the Wolf Pack. He's been with the club since the Rangers moved their farm team from Binghamton to Hartford in 1997. Gernander has twice been named the winner of the AHL's Fred T. Hunt Award for sportsmanship, determination and dedication to hockey - last season and back in 1995-96 while with Binghamton. He played his 500th game as a Wolf Pack player on January 21, 2004 and scored his 600th point of his AHL career on February 7, 2004. He is currently in ninth place on the AHL's all-time games played list with 946, the only active player in the top 25.

2003-04 league MVP Jason LaBarbera continues to re-write the Wolf Pack's record book for netminders. After winning the league's Baz Bastien Award as the AHL's top goaltender and finishing last season with the most wins (34) and setting a new league record for shutouts (13), LaBarbera continues his winning ways in 2004-05, being named Koho Goaltender of the Month for October, 2004. He has the best goals against average in the league (1.62), the best record in the AHL (20-4-1) and four shutouts as well.

The Wolf Pack next see action on Friday night in Albany, returning to the Hartford Civic Center on Saturday for a near sold-out game against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. Game time is 7:35 p.m.
