January 12, 2005 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Connecticut Whale News Release
Hartford, January 12, 2005: Two hundred and fifty area youth will take in the Hartford Wolf Pack hockey game on Saturday, thanks to a generous donation of tickets by The Hockey Company Holdings Inc. (THC) which supplies hockey equipment and supplies to the American Hockey League.
Youth from the Children's Home in Cromwell, CT Chasers hockey team, Asylum Hill Boys and Girls Club, Nutmeg Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Hartford Department of Youth Service and Groton Parks and Recreation Street Hockey Program will see the Wolf Pack face-off against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers.
"These kinds of partnerships are so beneficial to the youth in our community," said Wolf Pack General Manager Jim Schoenfeld. "We work with these charities in a number of ways away from the rink, including golf tournaments and coaching sessions. It's great that The Hockey Company gives us the opportunity to host these youth at 'our house' and see our players in action."
THC is the world's largest designer, manufacturer and marketer of hockey equipment and related apparel under three of the most globally recognized hockey brand names - CCM, Jofa and Koho. The company is also the leading maker of professional authentic and replica hockey jerseys.
The AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack hockey club is part of Madison Square Garden LP. Cablevision Systems Corporation owns a controlling interest in MSG LP, which also includes the New York Rangers (NHL), New York Knicks (NBA), the New York Liberty (WNBA), the MSG Network, Fox Sports Net and the Madison Square Garden arena complex.
