
Wolves Score All Four Goals on Special Teams

ROSEMONT, IL - The Chicago Wolves scored two power-play goals and two shorthanded goals as they went on to defeat the Hamilton Bulldogs 4-2 at the Allstate Arena on Tuesday night.
Christian Larrivee scored the game's opening goal for the Bulldogs just 2:39 into the first period. The goal was Larrivee's first of the season. Gavin Morgan and Michael Lambert picked up assists on the play.
The Bulldogs would go ahead 2-0 at 14:21 of the first period, as Tomas Plekanec took advantage of a Chicago turnover. Plekanec made no mistake by scoring his team leading 13th goal of the season.
However, that would be all the scoring for the Bulldogs. The Wolves would score four unanswered goals, all on special teams, for the 4-2 victory.
Chicago's first goal would come on the power play with 2:38 remaining in the first period. Cory Larose scored his 15th goal of the season, with veterans Steve Maltais and Lonny Bohonos adding assists.
Into the second period, and the Bulldogs would surrender two consecutive shorthanded goals just 31 seconds apart. The Wolves' Derek MacKenzie would score at 16:42 and then Kevin Doell at 17:13.
Doell would add a power-play goal for Chicago just 1:50 into the third period.
In goal, Bulldogs goaltender Dan Ellis made 34 saves and suffered the loss. Kari Lehtonen picked up the victory by stopping 28 shots.
Tuesday's contest marked the Bulldogs tenth game in the past 16 days.
The Hamilton Bulldogs record through 40 games stands at 15 wins, 18 losses, 4 overtime losses and 3 overtime losses.
The Hamilton Bulldogs next action will take place on Friday, January 14th as they host the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks (affiliate of the Anahiem Mighty Ducks) at Copps Coliseum.
