
Tigers Drop Second Half of Manitoba Road Trip to ICE

Winnipeg, MB - Despite scoring the first two goals of the game, the Medicine Hat Tigers drop a 8-3 decision to the Winnipeg ICE Saturday night.
The Tigers didn't waste anytime from the get go as Bogdans Hodass (Jelgava, LAT) would score his 5th of the season on a Tigers double minor power play 3:33 into the 1st period, Dru Krebs (Okotoks, AB) & Tomas Mrsic (Surrey, BC) would help set up the mark. Then shortly after the Hodass tally, Cayden Lindstrom (Chetwynd, BC) would one-time his 11th and second straight game with a goal to make it 2-0 from Hunter St. Martin (Edmonton, AB) & Krebs at 4:27.
Despite the start and a couple of spectacular saves by Tigers starter Beckett Langkow (Vegreville, AB). The ICE would respond in a big way of over three minutes the ICE cashed in on goals from Zack Ostapchuk and a pair from Connor McClennon including a power play mark to give Winnipeg a one goal lead after 1.
Off to the second period where the ICE continued their offensive output thanks to a breakaway goal from Easton Armstrong at 2:27, followed by McClennon for his hat-trick 12:22 to make 5-2 and spelling the end of the for Langkow as Evan may (Nanaimo, BC) would come in relief. But Zach Ostapchuk would get his second of the night at 16:59 to increase the ICE lead to 6-2 after 2.
In the final frame Conor Geekie and Vladislav Shilo would add to the ICE lead of 8-2 before Tomas Mrsic would solve ICE goaltender Mason Beaupit at 6:39 to make it 8-3. Brayden Boehm would set-up Mrsic's 6th of the season.
Winnipeg would outshoot the Tiger 36-33 and go 3/6 on the power play while Medicine Hat was 1/4.
With the loss the Tigers drop their record to 15-21-5-1 and will set their sights to a home game against the Prince George Cougars Tuesday night at Co-op Place, puck drop is set for 7pm.
