ICE CHIPS
The Winnipeg ICE play host the Medicine Hat Tigers in an 8:00 face off at the ICE Cave inside Wayne Fleming Arena.
The ICE are coming off a 4-3 overtime loss to the Seattle Thunderbirds Wednesday. Matthew Savoie scored twice while Conor Geekie had the other goal. Daniel Hauser made 28 saves.
Tonight is the finale to a five game homestand where the ICE have earned seven of a possible eight points so far. (Dec 30 vs Sktn 2-0 W, Dec 31 vs Sktn 2-1 OTW, Jan 8 vs Port 6-3 W, Wed vs Sea 4-3 OTL).
From October 12th to November 19th, the ICE set a new franchise record with a 15 game winning streak eclipsing the previous mark of 14 games held by the 2009-10 Kootenay ICE.
From October 15th to 22nd, Winnipeg became the first Eastern Conference based team to go a perfect 5-0 on the road versus the B.C. Division since the 2011-12 Kootenay ICE.
Carson Lambos was named the 24th Captain in ICE franchise history on October 6th.
The 19 year old returned from Minnesota Wild Training Camp where he appeared in three NHL preseason games. Connor McClennon, Owen Pederson and Ben Zloty were named alternate captains for 2022-23.

The ICE and Tigers will play four times during the regular season (Oct 1 @ MH 5-2 W / Tonight @ Wpg / Mar 1 @ MH / Mar 7 @ Wpg).
Winnipeg had an 6-0 record versus Medicine Hat during the 2021-22 regular season led by forward Connor McClennon who registered 14 points (7 goals and 7 assists) in 6 games.
