
Tides Strike Early Again, Win 6-2

(Norfolk, VA) - The Norfolk Tides scored all six runs and picked up all of their six hits over the first two innings and defeated the Pawtucket Red Sox 6-2 on Wednesday night at Harbor Park.
The PawSox (41-57) have dropped four straight and five of seven on their eight-game roadtrip.
The Tides (55-41) went to work against spot-starter Robby Scott (1-1) in the first inning, scoring two runs on three hits. Christian Walker put the Tides on the board with a run-scoring single and Dariel Alvarez added an RBI double.
Scott, who suffered the loss in his first Triple-A start, surrendered four runs with two outs in the second. Rey Navarro delivered a two-run double and Walker launched a two-run homer to left.
2B Jeff Bianchi knocked in Pawtucket's first round with a ground out in the fourth. In the sixth, Bianchi hit into a 6-4-3 double play to plate Allen Craig.
Pawtucket's bullpen retired the final 18 batters faced. Heath Hembree walked Steve Clevenger in the third, but retired the next three. Matt Barnes fired four perfect frames with two strikeouts and Ronald Belisario tossed the ninth.
Jackie Bradley Jr. finished 2-for-3 with a triple, walk and is hitting .440 (11-for-25), 4 HR and 9 RBI in his last 6 games. Garin Cecchini went 2-for-3 with a walk.
Pawtucket wraps up their eight-game roadtrip on Thursday afternoon against the Norfolk Tides at Harbor Park. LHP Henry Owens (3-7, 3.26) makes his 20th start of the season for the PawSox. Norfolk counters with RHP Tyler Wilson (3-5, 3.14). Pregame coverage begins on WHJJ and online at 6:50.
