Gwinnett Stripers News Release
ROCHESTER, NY - The Rochester Red Wings (52-46) rallied for three runs in the bottom of the fifth off of Gwinnett Braves' (48-49) right-handed starter Tyrell Jenkins and clipped the G-Braves 4-2 on Wednesday night in game three of the four-game series at Frontier Field.
The G-Braves got on the board first with a single tally in the top of the second against Rochester left-handed starter Pat Dean. Sean Kazmar reached first base on an infield single and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt by Todd Cunningham. Mallex Smith plated Kazmar from second with a two-out single to center.
The Gwinnett lead moved to 2-0 in the top of the fourth, as Kazmar again led off with an infield single and scored from first on a double to left by Cunningham.
Jenkins did not allow a hit until he ran into trouble in the bottom of the fifth. With one out, he walked Danny Ortiz and then gave up an infield single to Chris Herrmann. Eric Farris then doubled to right, scoring Ortiz to cut the lead to 2-1. Herrmann, who moved to third on the double, scored the tying run on a sac fly to right by Doug Bernier. Argenis Diaz then broke the 2-2 tie by lining a single to center, scoring Farris for a 3-2 Rochester lead.
The Red Wings tacked on another run off Jenkins in the bottom of the sixth when James Beresford singled to left, moved to second on an error by shortstop Daniel Castro and scored on a two-out single to right by Herrmann for a 4-2 lead they would not relinquish.
Jenkins (L, 1-1) pitched 6.0 innings with five hits, four runs (three earned) and one walk. Right-hander David Peterson went 1.0 inning with two walks and one strikeout. Righty Carlos Fisher worked 1.0 inning and did not allow a baserunner.

At the plate for Rochester, Herrmann was 2-for-4 with a run scored.
