The Bulls play the third game of a four-game set against the Charlotte Knights in the first series of a season-long 11-game road trip. Durham is 2-4 since the All-Star break, and has dropped 20 of its last 30 contests to go from a 2.0-game lead in the IL South to a 6.0-game deficit. The Bulls have not been this far back of first place in the IL South since the final day of the 2012 regular season, when they finished 66-78, 17.0 games behind the Knights. Charlotte - the Chicago White Sox top affiliate - is 4-2 over the first six games of an eight-game homestand. The Knights enter today with a 32-18 record at home, 2nd-best in the IL behind Indianapolis (31-17).
