Today's Game
Tonight, the Bisons face the Syracuse Chiefs in the third game of a four-game set at Coca-Cola Field (7:05 p.m.). The clubs have split the first two contests with the Bisons winning 7-0 on Monday night and Syracuse rebounding last night, 7-5. The Bisons remain just 3.0 games back of 1st place Rochester in the IL North division.

The Bisons are 5-2 against the Chiefs this season. Tonight is the 300th contest between the Thruway Cup rivals in the Herd's modern era ('85). Buffalo holds the 155-144 edge, having won 33 of the last 55 games in the series (.600 pct.).
Daniel Norris
LHP DANIEL NORRIS has made 14 starts for the Bisons this season. The southpaw delivered his sixth 'quality start' last Friday against Columbus, allowing just three runs on four hits in six innings of work. However, Norris did take the loss in the Clippers 3-2 win over Buffalo. He ranks 2nd on the Bisons with 73 strikeouts in 80.1 innings.

Last night was the first time since June 8 that INF MATT HAGUE did not reach base safely. The slugger's 37-game on-base streak was nine games longer than any other hitter in the IL this season. During the streak, Hague hit .368 with 25 RBI, 22 walks and a .472 on-base pct. Hague leads the IL in average (.346), hits (124) and on-base pct (.431).
Dalton Pompey
Since returning to the Herd on July 17, OF DALTON POMPEY has averaged .381 (8-21) with a double, two RBI and four runs scored. He's also drawn four walks for a .480 on-base pct.
Joba Chamberlain
The Blue Jays have signed RHP JOBA CHAMBERLAIN to a minor league contract. The 29-year old veteran was 0-2 with a 4.09 ERA in 30 appearances with the Tigers this year (22.0 IP, 15 SO) before being designated for assignment earlier this month.
Bisons Bits
The Bisons struck out just once last night. The team's 604 strikeouts are the 3rd-fewest in the IL...RHP GREG BURKE has allowed just one run in eight appearances for Buffalo this season. In 8.2 innings, the righty has given up four hits and struck out eight...The Bisons are a league-best 35-6 (.854) when scoring first in games this season.
Blue Jays Update
The Blue Jays (48-47) opened up a six-game West Coast swing with a 7-1 win over Oakland last night. Russell Martin, Edwin Encarnacion and Jose Bautista all homered and Mark Buehrle won his 11th game of the season. Toronto takes on the Athletics again tonight at 10:07 p.m.
