O'FALLON, MO - The River City Rascals scored two runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to erase the ThunderBolts 3-2 lead and deal the Bolts their third straight loss, 3-2 at T.R. Hughes Ballpark Saturday night.

The Rascals struck first on a Taylor Ard RBI single in the third, but the ThunderBolts responded immediately with two in the top of the fourth. Kyle Robinson led off with a home run, his seventh of the year, and Ryan Soares followed with a double. Soares would score later in the inning on a Davidson Peguero single.

In the sixth, the Bolts added to their lead as Soares led off with his second double of the game. Max White doubled him home to make the score 3-1.

Ard homered in the sixth to cut the deficit to one run and Travis Tingle departed after six innings, allowing two runs.

After a scoreless seventh inning, Victor Larez came out of the Bolts' bullpen and Ard led off, clubbing his second home run of the night on the second pitch of the inning to tie the score. Zach Kometani followed with a single and he scored on a Curran Redal double to give River City the 4-3 lead. Reese McGraw got the final two outs, leaving Redal at second, but Windy City's hitters went down in order in the ninth.

Patrick Crider (2-0) threw just one pitch, but got an out and received the win. Larez (2-3) took the loss. Gabe Shaw pitched the ninth for his 14th save.

The ThunderBolts and Rascals will conclude the season's first half on Sunday evening at 5:05. Josh Spence (0-3, 5.40) will start for the Bolts and take on River City's Ben Bracewell (1-0, 6.28). The game broadcast can be heard on WXAV 88.3 FM and wxav.com.
