WEEK IN REVIEW - Wichita entered the weekend looking to get back. Wichita and Tulsa hooked up for the third time in the last nine days on Saturday night. The Oilers came out with a 2-1 victory as Adam Pleskach recorded the shootout winner in round two. The Thunder closed the weekend with the Allen Americans on Sunday afternoon. Gary Steffes and Eric Roy gave Allen a 2-0 lead before the Thunder stormed back to tie the game and force overtime. Roy recorded the game-winner in the OT.
RALLY HATS - Wichita trailed in both games this past weekend, but fought back to force overtime. On Friday, the Thunder trailed 1-0 before Michael Neal tied the game. Wichita fell behind 2-0 before climbing back into the contest on Sunday with goals from Mason Baptista and Eric Springer. Sunday's OT loss was the first time all season the Thunder were able to come back from a two-goal deficit and earn a point.
SPRING TO ACTION - Eric Springer scored his first goal of the year to tie the game late in the third period. The Wrightstown, WI native now has four points (1g, 3a) in 15 games with the Thunder. It was also his first goal in a Thunder uniform.
TWO-FOR-TWO - Joey Sides and Michael Neal had two points apiece this past weekend. Neal scored the only goal for Wichita on Saturday night and added an assist on Sunday. Sides has assists in back-to-back games.
PENALTY BUSTER - Wichita's penalty killing unit has been solid this year. At home, the Thunder are ranked sixth in the league, operating at 86.4%. Overall, Wichita is 11th in the league, operating at 83.8%.
MONEYS WORTH - Wichita went 10 games without needing more than 60 minutes to decide the outcome of its games. Over the last 10 days, the Thunder have played four out of the last five contests past regulation. Wichita is 1-1 in games decided in the overtime period and 2-3 in shootout situations.
ON THE ROAD AGAIN - Wichita closes its four-game homestand on Wednesday before hitting the road to finish out 2015. The Thunder plays at Missouri on New Year's Eve, heads to Indy on Saturday night to face the Fuel and finishes the weekend at Evansville on Sunday.
