QUACK TRACKS

Skid

The Mallards have lost three straight games. That skid is their first regulation losing streak of the season.

Sweep

The Mallards over the weekend dropped both ends of a home-and-home series with the Fuel, falling 4-1 on home ice last Saturday night before dropping a 2-1 decision yesterday in Indianapolis.

First

The Mallards lead the Cincinnati Cyclones by three points in the race for first place in the ECHL's Midwest Division. The second place Cyclones have four games in hand on the Mallards.

Undermanned

Due to injuries, call-ups and a suspension, the Mallards have dressed fewer than the allowed 16 skaters for each of their last five games. They had just 14 skaters in uniform yesterday.

Home Sweet Home

While the Mallards (11-3-1) remain tied for the league lead in home wins, they have now lost two of their last three home tilts.

Drought

The Mallards scored just once in each of their two games over the weekend and have been held to two goals or fewer in six of their last seven games. They have dropped into a tie for twenty-third in the ECHL in goals per game (2.6).

Between the Pipes

Steve Michalek is tied for eighth in the ECHL in save percentage (.923). Brody Hoffman stopped 77 of the 83 shots he faced in his last two starts.

Iron Mike

By picking up an assist last Saturday night against the Fuel, Mike Monfredo reached one hundred career points in his one hundredth ECHL game. Monfredo is tied for second among ECHL defensemen in assists (18), is tied for third among defensemen in points (21) and is tied for ninth overall in assists.

Arch Madness

By scoring the only Mallard goal yesterday, Olivier Archambault became the first Mallard to reach 25 points this season. Archambault has recorded five points (two goals and three assists) in his last four games.

Rook

Matt Neal leads the Mallards in goals (10) and plus/minus rating (+8). Neal is tied for fifth among ECHL rookies in goals and ranks seventh among rookies in points (22).

Welcome Aboard

Forward Tyler Gjurich yesterday signed with the Mallards and made his debut for the team against the Fuel. Gjurich was tied for the Federal Hockey League lead in goals (20), was tied for third in points (32) and was tied for sixth in plus/minus rating (+14) when he joined the Mallards from the Danbury Titans.

Special Teams

The Mallards have killed off 40 of their opponents' last 42 power plays to climb to second in the ECHL in penalty killing (87.0 percent). The Mallards rank tenth on the power play (19.1 percent).

Head to Head

The Mallards rallied to win the first of their seven meetings this season with the IceMen 6-5 in overtime on December 6 in Evansville. All-time the Mallards have gone 10-8-0 against the IceMen overall and 4-2-0 in the Quad Cities. The two teams met 16 times in the Central Hockey League in 2010-11 and 2011-12.

Milestones

In addition to reaching 100 career points in his one hundredth ECHL game last Saturday night, Monfredo has also now played 233 games with the Mallards. He is closing in on eleventh place in team history in games played, a position currently occupied by Kerry Toporowski (236)...Archambault last Saturday night played his one hundredth career game.

Ins and Outs

Tyler Gjurich made his Mallard debut yesterday after signing with the team earlier in the day...Guillaume Gelinas was recalled by Iowa (AHL) Saturday. That call-up was Gelinas' second in seven days. Gelinas had just returned to the Mallards from Iowa last Tuesday after being recalled by Iowa Sunday, December 20. Gelinas played his first AHL game this season last Monday and skated again for Iowa Saturday night and yesterday evening...Austin Coldwell returned to the Mallards last Tuesday after signing a professional tryout agreement with Iowa last Monday and making his AHL debut last Monday night...Kyle Follmer (upper body) returned to the line-up last Saturday night after missing one game...Vladimir Nikiforov (upper body) and Zach Pochiro (upper body) missed yesterday's game...Tanner Eberle (upper body) has missed the Mallards' last four games... Raphael Bussieres (lower body) and Kevin Gibson (upper body) have missed the Mallards' last seven games... Kevin Henderson (upper body) has missed the Mallards' last 12 games.

Disc Replay Report Card Night

The Mallards have teamed with Disc Replay to honor academic achievement. Students with an "A" or other exemplary grade on any report card from the 2015-16 school year are eligible to receive a free ticket to Wednesday's game. Students or their parents can show report cards in order to receive a free ticket at the iWireless Center Box Office or at the Mallards office at the iWireless Center. ON THE AIR

Fox Sports Radio 1230 is the radio home of Mallards Hockey Presented by Genesis Power Sports Performance. Mallards games broadcast on AM 1230 also stream live online at www.wfxn.net. A limited number of Mallards games will not air on Fox Sports Radio 1230 due to conflicts with University of Illinois basketball and football and Green Bay Packer football. ECHL-TV pay-per-view video webcasts and free audio webcasts of all Mallards games are also available at myqcmallards.net.

ONLINE

The Mallards will team with B100's Olivia Mornae for a Twitter Takeover Wednesday night. Olivia, the co-host of Olivia and Kevin Walker in the Morning and Olivia Middays on B100, will take over @myqcmallards Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. through the end of the Mallards' match-up with Evansville to provide her unique perspective on the Flock while also keeping fans up to date on the game.

The box office is open weekdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and on game days from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the second period.
