Gelinas Returns to Mallards

MOLINE, Ill. - Defenseman Guillaume Gelinas has been assigned to the Quad City Mallards by the American Hockey League's Iowa Wild and the Mallards have placed defenseman Kevin Gibson on 21-day injured reserve retroactive to December 6, the Mallards announced today.

Gelinas, 22, was recalled by Iowa Saturday and played for the Wild Saturday night and again Sunday evening. Gelinas has now skated in three games for Iowa this season after making his first AHL appearance of the campaign last Monday night.

Gelinas has scored five goals and notched 12 assists for 17 points in 25 games with the Mallards this season.

Gibson has missed seven games since being sidelined by an upper body injury. The 25-year old rookie has played 15 games for the Mallards without recording a point.

The Malllards next play at home Wednesday night at 6:35 p.m. against the Evansville Icemen. Wednesday evening will see the Mallards team with Disc Replay to honor academic achievement with Disc Replay Report Card Night. Students with an "A" or other exemplary grade on any report card from the 2015-16 school year are eligible to receive a free ticket to Wednesday's game. Students or their parents can show report cards in order to receive a free ticket at the iWireless Center Box Office or at the Mallards office at the iWireless Center. Single game tickets for all Mallards regular season home games- including Wednesday's game- are on sale now at the iWireless Center box office, Ticketmaster outlets, ticketmaster.com and Ticketmaster charge-by-phone toll free at 1-800-745-3000. The box office is open weekdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Tickets are available for $10, $16, $20 and $28.
