Wichita, KS (Nov. 9th) - Wichita is coming off a busy weekend with three games in three nights. Read up on the week that was in this edition of Thunder Weekly:
LAST WEEK'S GAMES -
Friday, November 6th
Wichita at Quad City, 4-2 L
-The Thunder scored twice in the first period, but gave up two third period goals in a 4-2 to loss at Quad City.
Saturday, November 7th
Wichita at Missouri, 1-0 L
-Missouri's Matt Finn scored an early first period goal and Parker Milner was perfect in a 1-0 victory on Saturday night at Missouri.
Sunday, November 8th
Missouri at Wichita, 2-1 L
-The Mavericks scored the first two goals of the contest. Mason Baptista pulled the Thunder within one, but couldn't find the equalizer.

THREE-IN-THREE - The Thunder appeared in their second three-in-three of the season this past weekend, going 0-3-0-0. The Thunder fell on Friday night at Quad City, lost on Saturday night at Missouri and fell in another tight one to the Mavericks by the final of 2-1 on Saturday.
SEVEN-IN-NINE - The Thunder are currently in their toughest stretch of the season. Wichita will head to Allen on Tuesday, return to INTRUST Bank Arena on Wednesday before hosting Missouri for two-straight on Friday and Saturday next weekend. In total, Wichita will have played seven games in nine nights.
CLOSE CALL - In the Thunder's four losses to the Mavericks, three of those contests were decided by just one goal. In fact, the last three meetings between the two teams were one-goal affairs. Wichita is 3-3-0-0 in games decided by one this season.
MASKED MAN - David Shantz appeared in back-to-back games for the first time this season and stood tall despite not picking up a win. He stopped 63 of 66 saves, including 21 shots in the second period on Sunday afternoon against Missouri. His goals-against average dropped to 2.52 and his save percentage to .916.
ROOKIES MAKING THEIR MARK - Mason Baptista scored his second goal of the weekend on Sunday afternoon and now has goals in three of the last five games. Anthony Deluca picked up an assist on Sunday, giving him five points on the season and is tied for second on the team in scoring.
HUFF AND PUFF - Andy Huff added three more assists over the weekend, giving him six assists in the last five games. He is tied for the team-lead with seven points.
MARTY - Brandon Martell recorded his third goal of the season that pulled the Thunder even on Friday night with the Mallards. He caught a beautiful feed across the crease and buried it past Brody Hoffman. Martell is tied for the team-lead with three goals and has scored in two of the last four games.
PENALTY BUSTED - Wichita has been sparkling on the penalty kill at home so far this season. The Thunder have gone 20-for-20 through five games at INTRUST Bank Arena. The Thunder ranks fifth in the league on the penalty kill, busting 88.6% of the opportunities against.
FIRST GOAL - Teams in the ECHL that have scored first have had the upper hand so far to this point in the season. Out of the 132 first goals scored so far, teams are 101-23-7-1 and good for a clip of .795 winning percentage. The Thunder have scored four first goals so far this season, going 3-1-0-0.
MILESTONE - Kevin McClelland is nearing a Thunder milestone. The former Stanley Cup champ is nearing 200 wins as the bench boss in the Air Capital. In 344 games, he has gone 180-130-35 in six season in Wichita and is the Thunder's all-time winningest coach. Overall, he is 367-236-61 in 11 seasons as a professional head coach.
